Eurobound Introduces Switzerland by Electric Car

Grand Tour Switzerland Certified Carbon Neutral Vacation

Environmentally-conscious travelers can take the world’s first official tour route fully accessible to electric vehicles on Eurobound’s new Grand Tour Switzerland by electric car.

The independent, 9-day package provides a gas-saving Tesla Model S, plus 4- and 5-star hotel accommodations for 8 nights with daily breakfast and parking, taxi from Täsch to Zermatt, and a Swiss Coupon Pass with two-for-one savings.  A supplied Swiss Grand Tour road map and travel book guide clients along the route, which covers the country’s most scenic towns, villages, and mountain passes.

The package begins and ends in Zurich, with an overnight each in Zurich, Bad Ragaz in the “Heidi land” region, St. Moritz, Lugano, Zermatt, Lausanne, Interlaken, and Lucerne.

All told, the journey runs alongside 22 lakes, covers five alpine passes, and takes in 12 UNESCO World Heritage sites.  En route, travelers can select their own activities at their own pace: relax with a short, scenic train ride; take a hike in the Engadine region; visit small towns like Bellinzona and Gruyeres, or Castle Chillon in Montreux; ride a funicular to scenic overviews, or take a lake cruise in Bern.

The Carbon Neutral Vacation

Most hotels on the Grand Tour itinerary provide charging stations for electric cars free or at low cost, representing an estimated $400 savings in gas .  In addition to charging their cars at hotels, Eurobound guests travel along a newly-completed network of 200 electric charging stations along the way.

The Switzerland Grand Tour is certified as a carbon neutral journey.  All CO2 emissions during the trip, including overnight stays, will be offset through “myclimate,” an organization that funds green projects in 30 different countries.
