Eurobound Introduces Italy Truffle Hunting Experience

8-Night Gourmand Package Also Features Cheese, Wine, Chocolate Tastings

New to Epicurean Collection

Late fall is prime truffle season in Northern Italy’s Piedmont region, and Eurobound has introduced a custom, 8-night independent self-drive package for travelers who want to join the hunt for some of the world’s finest delicacies.

Travelers spend a morning in the forests of Piedmont’s Langhe area — renowned for its white Alba truffles—where they search for the coveted tuber.  The hunt begins in one of the small villages spread throughout the Langhe, when clients meet their experienced truffle guide.   Accompanied by a specially trained dog, the guide explains secrets of locating the prized edibles, providing a private, first-hand opportunity to learn about the delicacy.

Lunch at a country restaurant—complete with truffles and wine—tops off the hunt, offering an added taste of local culture and cuisine

Cheese, Wine and Chocolate Tastings

Complementing the truffle hunt are cheese, wine, chocolate tastings, and local private tours.  Cheese tastings include Tomino and Taleggio in Northern Piedmont, and a Gorgonzola cheese and Franciacorta wine tasting at Lake Iseo in the foothills of the Alps.  Also on the agenda is a chocolate tasting in Torino, and wine tastings in the Barolo and Valpolicella areas.

The gourmet package begins in Milano, ending in Venice, and features all 5-star accommodations with breakfast.  Included are 4 nights at the Hotel Relais San Maurizio, a former monastery set in the Unesco Heritage Langhe hills.  Two nights each are spent at L’Albereta Relais e Chateaux on Lake Iseo; and at Hotel Ca’Sagredo in Venice.   Also included is 6-days’ rental of a full-size car with automatic transmission, private tours of Torino and Venice with English speaking guides, and water taxi service in Venice.
