Small Group Europe Tours
Kick Off Spring 2019
Eurobound is introducing “Art, Food and Yoga” small-group tours to France and Italy, slated to begin spring, 2019. The on-demand itineraries will combine yoga classes and fitness walks with in-depth cultural explorations of lesser-known areas including walking tours, guided museum visits and wine tastings.
Provence Art, Food and Yoga
Eurobound’s first itinerary is based in Vence, with seven nights at the Hotel Diana in the heart of town. Led by Eurobound’s president, Brigitte Armand, a native of Vence, the itinerary includes a visit to Grasse and the Fragonard perfume factory, market visits, a cheese and chocolate tasting, wine tastings, a visit to a glass blowing studio and select meals in local restaurants featuring regional specialties.
On the itinerary are the perched village of Tourettes Sur Loup, Monaco and Monte Carlo, St. Jean Cap Ferrat, St. Paul de Vence, plus Nice and Antibes. Each day includes a yoga class or fitness walk led by a certified yoga instructor. Walking tours and museum visits with local guides provide insight into the wealth of French art and culture.
Sites explored include the Matisse Chapel in Vence, the Villa Santos Sospir of author and playwright Jean Cocteau, Fondation Maeght with its collection of modern and contemporary art, the Chagall Museum in Nice, and the Picasso Museum in Antibes. The tours are open to all, and participation in yoga sessions is optional.
Price for the 8-day Art, Food & Yoga tour, led by Brigitte, starts at $3,995 per person, based on double occupancy and a minimum of 15 passengers. Included are transfers, hotel accommodations, select meals, wine and chocolate tastings, touring, yoga classes, and privately-guided museum visits.
Genesis of a Tour
The new Art, Food and Yoga tours are the inspiration of Brigitte Armand and her yoga instructor, Teri Thompson, owner of Yoga by Teri, in Redondo Beach, California. “We decided that it would be fun to take the yoga class, along with spouses, on a tour of my native Provence, and show them the area from the perspective of a local,” says Brigitte.
So, this past spring, Brigitte designed and led an 8-day itinerary for 15 of her yoga classmates and their spouses. The tour proved so successful that Brigitte and Teri were asked to create another tour for 2019. They are currently planning a new tour of Tuscany and Chianti for 2019.
